Oil, canvas, 100x120 cm, oil, canvas, 2023

"Matrix Failure"
Oil, canvas, 80x100 cm, 2019-22
Series "What did Möbius know about infinity?"
Reality is unsteady, ringing, joking with us, winking by a thousand faces. It's a matrix failure.
As our technological advancements surge forward, the question arises: are our human identities keeping pace or lost in the fog of ignorance? However, a nuanced shift is evident, revealing the evolving soul of humanity through diverse images — from animalistic grins to vulnerable, sincere faces, symbolizing the transformative journey towards self-acceptance and understanding of others. The picture captures the essence of a changing human soul within the unpredictable matrix of existence.
"Life is like a lost subway car going to eternity"
Oil, canvas, 100x120cm, 2019-22
Series "What did Möbius know about infinity?"
Once, having noticed some strangeness in the surrounding reality, we suddenly realize that reality is unsteady, it laughs and winks at us, and it plays with us.
One day in a subway car, I suddenly met a character that drew 3 years ago.
Arriving home, I peered into my picture and saw the outlines of the underground carriage
and passengers there, and completed this picture.
Are we all living in a GAME?
For many years this subway car has been considered mysteriously missing. And then, one day, it appears at the station. The passengers inside seem calm and indifferent. For them, only a moment has passed. Only the main character is already guessing about something, so he feels uneasy. This is about our choice: whether we prefer to re-enter the endless cycle, or heed our inner voice and eventually step off the train?
"Once at a session with old Freud"
Oil, canvas, 120x100cm, 2019-23
Series "What did Möbius know about infinity?"
In an era marked by rapid change, sincerity, and vulnerability emerge as potent forces in the evolving reality. Perhaps our entire humanity needs the help of a psychoanalyst. How would we all feel sitting in the office of the old and wise Freud? Perhaps, we would sense our vulnerability, and nakedness, and confront the acceptance of our primal instincts, or the acute awareness of countless minds, coexisting within our bodies.
This painting serves as a mirror for our collective self-analysis in search of authenticity.
"Humanity sleeps in the net of sansara"
Size 120x100 cm, oil, canvas, 2019-23
Series "What did Möbius know about infinity?"
Very soon there will be Metaverses, where our Avatars will live a vibrant life
that we can only dream of while we sleep in networks of wires.
But what if it's already happening?
And we are already someone's Avatars? Then who is the real player?
"Dance, your Angel is with you!"
Size 80x100 cm, oil, canvas, 2019-22
Series "What did Möbius know about infinity?"
Sometimes we notice that some invisible hand pushes us away from trouble,
and leads us through life. Maybe our Angels exist?
Or is it the administrators of our global virtual game?
How wonderful it is to believe that life is a game,
and each of us has invisible strength and support.
There is our own Angel.
"The main question of the universe"
Oil, canvas, 50x50cm, 2019-22
Series "What did Möbius know about infinity?"
Sometimes it seems to me that I predict the future, the images themselves come to my canvases.
Here I see how the ship shells the city, and God looks sternly from above.
What is it, is he angry with the ship? Or, on the contrary, is it a test sent to the city from above?
Why does God allow wars, catastrophes, and the death of people in suffering?
"The birth of a new man. last try"
Oil, canvas, 100x80cm, 2019-22
Series "What did Möbius know about infinity?"
This painting was originally called "Death by Fire". It was created in 2019
when terrible fires destroyed the forests. But later I noticed that there were observers on the canvas.
And I realized that the story on the canvas is much deeper than just death.
Now, this artwork captures the essence of a new individual's birth and a new society's simultaneous emergence. Sincerity and tolerance are born through the lens of pain, blood, and conflict. The cosmic onlookers observe this sacred process without undue pity, understanding the necessity of this sacred process. They believe in us.
This painting is presented in the exhibition "Personal Structures" by the European Cultural Center / "Lucid Dreams" by Gabriele Fine Arts Gallery, which is a part of the Venice Biennale,
from April 20 to November 24, 2024, at Palazzo Bembo, Venice, Italy at Venice Biennale 2024
The shades of concrete, rendered with oil on canvas, serve as an allegory for the unadulterated honesty of the material from which our future world will be constructed. This piece invites viewers to reflect on the profound transformation occurring, encouraging contemplation of the sacrifices and challenges inherent in the creation of a more genuine and tolerant society.
